The Grass Is Always Greener...Or Does It Just Seem That Way?

Lucy and Dana decided to meet at Casey's for a couple of drinks and some nice conversation. They haven't been able to visit much of late due to Lucy working long hours and Dana dating Peter. They were finally able to meet up last Friday night. Sounds like Lucy's restless...

I think Lucy will be in for a real surprise when she finally does get to New York, Chicago and San Francisco. She'll probably find out that none of them are as glamorous as she thinks they are. They're more crowded, congested and the cost of living is way higher than in Moreville. We'll see if she has a different perspective when she comes back home. :-)

  1. I'm opposite to Lucy on that matter: for me, there is no place like home. No matter what glamour or calm or whatever, it ain't home.

Lucy is lucky to have a good friend like Dana (ahem, not pushing her b/c we share a first name, lol). Good friends help ground us.

If you do stories set in those cities, that would be fun. Not that Moreville isn't a great place to be. Would be fun to see Lucy's reaction to the reality of some of the places she admires from afar ....

  2. I agree with you Dana. There's no place like home. Lucy thinks she'll have a more exciting life, especially on the social front, in these larger cities. But none of them will be "home" to her. If I can find free backdrops of those cities, I'll do stories of Lucy's reaction to them. And Dana is a wonderful friend to her. :-)

  3. Sounds like some fun trips are on the horizon. I hope Lucy does get a chance to explore some other places. At least then she would know what it's really like in those other towns. She'll probably gravitate back to Moreville in the end.

    1. Lucy will go to these cities and be in for a big shock. The hike in the cost of living will be a real eye-opener for her. LOL. She'll gain a real appreciation for Moreville when she gets back. Maybe it isn't so boring after all. :-)

  4. I wanted to do like Lucy years ago, but then I realized that nothing would be changed for me, so I'm still here in my town

    1. I think we've all felt like Lucy at some point in our lives. Thing is, once we go to these places and realize that they're not as glamorous as we thought, we wind up coming back. There truly is no place like home. :-)
