Break Time

Hello everyone. I bet you all thought I dropped off the face of the planet somewhere. I haven't. It's just that life has taken over and hasn't left me much time for Moreville. Now with the holidays coming up, I have even more to do. I was able to get stories into the Fall, Winter and Holiday 2015 issues of Fashion Doll Quarterly and in the December 2015 issue of Designer Dolls Magazine. Other than those projects, I haven't been able to play in Moreville as much as I'd like to.

That being said, I'm taking a break for awhile, but I promise to be back when things settle down a bit.

For those of you who are wondering, Gabe got a job working as a ranch hand on Marianne's farm. Hope it works out for both of them. :-)

Praying For Paris

My thoughts and prayers are with the victims and families of this horrible act of violence.

May God grant them peace, comfort, strength and much love.

Re-body Results and A New Resident

My friend Robin of Roville wanted to see my re-bodied Lena. Some of you suggested I use the old Tris body, and it turned out to be a pretty good match. Lena is very happy with her new-found ability to move around.

Jewell, one of my followers, told me how to remove the tattoos using acetone. The tattoos did come off, but it left the plastic a little rough. Fortuneately, it doesn't show. Overall, I'm happy with how Lena turned out.

Meanwhile, the next day, a new Moreville resident discovered Casey's.

This is the new Gale doll from the Hunger Games Mockingjay movie. I saw him on Amazon and just couldn't resist him. He was just too handsome!

He's also fully articulated. Some of my girls already have their eyes on him, so we'll see who gets to be the lucky one to date him. In the meantime, he's checking out the job leads Casey gave him. :-)

New Fashionistas

September was a great month for Moreville. Several new ladies moved in much to the appreciation and joy of all the single guys in town. I managed to get everyone together before they all scattered off and got involved in their lives.

Here are the first three. They haven't "told" me their names yet, but they will in due time. The Asian lady in the middle has bendable arms and wrists but not legs. It's awkward but I can work with it. She had such a cute face and clothes, I just couldn't pass her up. She's a sophomore at Moreville College.

Here is a closer look. I've already re-bodied the African American lady and the redhead.

Here are the other three. The African American lady on the left has articulated ankles. She can wear high heels or flats. I was on the fence about getting the Asian lady because I didn't have any articulated bodies I could use to re-body her with. She's just too pale. Do any of you have any suggestions as to which doll I could use to re-body her with?

Here's a closer look. Raquel is not new. I've had her for awhile but never got around to de-boxing her until now.

The new girls have made themselves right at home at Casey's. Looks like Ryan's enjoying the view. Good thing Anna Lee isn't the jealous type. LOL :-)

A Visit To Aaron's English Class

Aaron invited his friend Jarrod to come to his English class and talk about his job as the sports editor for the Moreville Times. Aaron hoped that Jarrod's visit would generate more interest in writing among his students. We'll have to wait and see about that.

Looks like the kids really liked Jarrod. I'm not sure any of them would choose a writing career, but you never know. Aaron's plan seems to have worked. The kids didn't grumble so much about writing papers after Jarrod's visit. :-)

New Girls in Town

I'd like to introduce you all to the three newest Moreville residents.

From left to right they are Hannah, Julia and Jessie. Hannah is the 2015 Birthday Wishes doll. Julia is one of the new City Shine dolls, and Jessie is from the previous City Shine collection.

Wave to the nice people ladies. Thank you. As you can see, they've all been re-bodied.

Oh, and that's Tim waving from the next table. I don't think the lady he's with appreciates the fact that he's been admiring these three since they sat down.

Looks like Tim isn't the only one admiring the new ladies.

I wasn't going to get Jessie (blond City Shine) because I'm not crazy about sideways glancers. They're harder to photograph and position right for the story lines. But Walmart had her on clearance, and I couldn't resist. After re-bodying and re-dressing her, I had a change of heart. She's just beautiful! Hannah (Birthday Wishes) was a gift from Marianne. Julia (City Shine Redhead) came from Amazon. I had her on my wish list for awhile, and when they dropped her price to $19.99, I snapped her right up. I never could resist a good sale. So two major price drops and a gift. I must be living right. :-)

A Quick Review

I finally broke down and purchased the new Tris Insurgent doll. I wasn't going to get her, but when I saw her in Target she finally "spoke" to me. Her short hair makes her look cute and sassy, and she'll be a perfect addition to my college kids.

Here she is deboxed.

A close-up view.

I really hate the fact that her arms don't bend.

Her legs bend though. I don't understand why Mattel made the first Tris doll fully articulated and not this one.

I rebodied her on the first Tris' body. The skin tone isn't a perfect match, but it's very close. She'll be Tris' sister, tattoos and all. I don't know her name yet.

Tris and her sister wound up at Bella Donna's for lunch after a successful visit to Dr. Carlyle.

I think Tris' sister will blend in very well with the other students at Moreville College. I'm not sure what she'll study, but the college has many different programs for her to choose from. She's very smart, so she'll do well in whatever course of study she decides on. :-)
