Lauren's New Man

Arty's brother, Cameron, just broke up with his long time girlfriend. So Arty took him to Casey's for a few drinks and some sympathetic conversation.

I'm not sure Arty can handle Lauren. She's got a bit of an attitude and can be a firecracker at times. On the other hand, she was able to get Arty to relax and be himself around her. Meanwhile, Cameron has his eye on the girls at the next table...:-)

  1. Haha, cute story. I cracked up when Arty fell. Lauren handled it pretty gracefully though. Can't wait to see how things go!

    1. Hi Phyllis!
Arty may find out that Lauren can be a bit much to handle at times, but I think she'll help him build his self-confidence a little. We'll see what develops. :-)

    1. Hi Sergio!
Arty tends to be shy and self-conscious, especially around beautiful women. But the more he and Lauren get to know each other, the more he'll relax. I like to think most people are flattered when someone likes them enough to want to get to know them better. :-)

  3. Too funny! Poor thing. I'm surprised he even introduced himself after that fall. I have to give him credit for that. Lauren seems nice. Maybe she can help him get over his problems with girls.

    1. Hi Vanessa!
Lauren has a way of getting Arty to relax and be more self-confident, which is a good thing since he tends to be more comfortable around computers than women. LOL :-)

  4. Funny story! My bets are on Arty getting her. She is pretty and Arty seems like a nerd. She should definitely give him a chance.

    1. Hi Georgia Girl!
Thank you! Lauren definitely likes Arty. She found his clumsy approach very charming. We'll see where they go from here. :-)

  5. Loved your story and anxious to see what happens to Lauren and Arty. Your tavern is also well put together, the main counter looks great!

    1. Hi Lifecirclez and welcome to my blog!
Thank you! It took me several months to put Casey's Tavern together. I built everything in it. The main counter is made of wood, and the top is granite. It's a favorite hangout for the Moreville residents. :-)

    2. Wow my hats of to you! I am terrible at woodworking. Love the granite!!

  6. One thing I wanted to share that someone told me years ago and I hope you don't mind, it's that cartoon speech balloons are usable placed left to right or top to bottom for easy reading. That is in every picture the first speech balloon is either to the extreme left or placed on the very top.

    1. Hello again Lifecirclez!
I don't mind at all, and thank you for sharing. The left-right or top-bottom placement of the speech bubbles does make sense for easier reading. I do try to place the characters so that the bubbles do read left to right, but I'm not always successful at it! LOL I'm glad you're here! :-)

    2. Whew! Ok glad you don't mind. Trust me I tried to place the dolls just to conform too and that was a nightmare. My trick try skinny and horizontal balloons rather than the traditional rounded one to get the top and bottom, and to get the left and right try first balloon top left and second ballon bottom right. Basically my daughter said "Mom go read some Archie comics to get the hang of it," and she was right. Golly the things we do for our dolls!

    3. Hi Lifecirclez!
I read Archie comics as a kid. I loved them! And you're right -- the things we do for our dolls! LOL Thanks so much for the great advice. I'll keep it in mind for all my future story posts. :-)

Arty really is a sweetie. I think Lauren may be a bit much for him to handle, but we'll see. :-)
