A Quick Review

I finally broke down and purchased the new Tris Insurgent doll. I wasn't going to get her, but when I saw her in Target she finally "spoke" to me. Her short hair makes her look cute and sassy, and she'll be a perfect addition to my college kids.

Here she is deboxed.

A close-up view.

I really hate the fact that her arms don't bend.

Her legs bend though. I don't understand why Mattel made the first Tris doll fully articulated and not this one.

I rebodied her on the first Tris' body. The skin tone isn't a perfect match, but it's very close. She'll be Tris' sister, tattoos and all. I don't know her name yet.

Tris and her sister wound up at Bella Donna's for lunch after a successful visit to Dr. Carlyle.

I think Tris' sister will blend in very well with the other students at Moreville College. I'm not sure what she'll study, but the college has many different programs for her to choose from. She's very smart, so she'll do well in whatever course of study she decides on. :-)

  1. Congrats on the purchase! And thanks for confirming the Tris mismatch. I had the same experience when I attempted to rebody my Insurgent Tris on a Divergent body and wondered if it was just me.

    1. Hi Jewell!
No it's not you. The skin tones aren't a perfect match, but they're close enough for it to work. :-)

  2. Congrats on getting the new Tris! I did the same thing -- used a Divergent Tris body for the Insurgent Tris body. I am experimenting with some body mods (now that I have a Dremel) and am going to try to put the Tris legs on a Disney body. I will let you know if it works out!

    1. Hi Phyllis!
Wow, you're much more ambitious and daring than I am! I'd be afraid of ruining both the bodies I'm trying to mix and match. Sounds almost frankensteinish doesn't it? LOL Please do let me know how it works out. :-)

    1. Hi grandmommy!
She is really cute, which is what attracted me to her in the first place. She's much better with the articulated body. She'll blend in well with the other college students. :-)

  4. She is so pretty and I love her hair style. I had her in my basket at Target and then I took her out...I put her back in, then I took her. After talking myself out of getting her, I and left her out. I kinda/sorta regret doing so. She was on clearance too. Sigh...

    1. Hi Georgia Girl!
Believe me, I've done the same thing with other dolls. I put them in my basket, walk around for awhile, put them back, then go get them again. If I leave the store without getting them, I've been known to regret it. I think Barbie Collector has this Insurgent doll for $12.99 I think. You might try them even though their shipping cost is ridiculous. :-)

  5. Congrats on getting her. I love her and have thought about getting her. I'm a sucker for a cute short haircut. Good to know the second one isn't fully articulated. That sucks.

    1. Hi Vanessa!
Thanks! I was on the fence about her for quite awhile. Aside from the lack of upper body articulation, she's truly adorable. I made her Tris' sister so they can both have the "clan" tattoos. :-)
