School started a couple of weeks ago at Moreville High, and some students are already complaining about the amount of homework they have to do. The ones that participate in sports, band or other activities know they must keep their grades up in order to avoid being suspended from after-school activities. Those students have no choice. Homework is a necessary evil.
Since Charlotte was concerned that Aaron would be too busy to have dinner with her at Bella Donna's, I thought we would sit in on one of his classes....
Justin would rather be reading football plays than a classic book like To Kill A Mockingbird. He doesn't realize that once he gets into it, he'll discover there are other things going on in life besides sports. He may even relate to the character of Jem who also loved to play football. But he has to crack the book open and start reading it in order to meet him! LOL :-)
Hello from Spain: beautiful pictures. I love this school. I like the clothes the teacher is wearing. I am opposed to the homework assignment. Keep in touch
ReplyDeleteMarta - I am curious, why are you opposed to the homework assignment?
DeleteHello Marta,
DeleteGlad you like the school pictures. The clothes came from a Ken Fashion Avenue set from the 1990s.
AWESOME classroon! Love the tables and desk that you made. Great story, too. Very typical of someone trying to get out of reading the book.
ReplyDeleteThanks Vanessa! This classroom is similar to the one I had back in my high school. I had it for both English and algebra class. Yes, Justin didn't think that Aaron knew the internet even existed! He was very surprised to find out otherwise! LOL :-)
DeleteCindi, I read To Kill a Mockingbird in school, and I tried to remember who was who. I got everything but the questions about Dill and Calpurnia. (I remembered the latter after I *heard* the answer though. Thanks for the mini drill ;-D)
ReplyDeleteGlad to see that some of the students were attentive and interested. Pity Justin is not one of them, but maybe once he opens the book, he'll enjoy it.
Aaron is a fun teacher.
Hi D7ana!
DeleteI reread the book specifically to do this post. I read it in high school myself many moons ago! Aaron loves teaching the kids, and they enjoy him. Justin likes him too but would rather play football than read! LOL :-)
