I bet you all thought I'd dropped off the face of the planet. Believe me, I haven't. LOL Instead I picked up a new hobby - like I had time for it! As you all know, my roommate/sister Marianne is a knitter. And being a knitter means she has quite a large stash of yarn; like me with my doll stash. Since I have absolutely NO patience for knitting, I decided to try my hand at crocheting. Guess what? I LOVE it! Only one hook to deal with and lots of loop-de-loops to create many wonderful designs. Of course, the Moreville residents are benefiting from this new hobby of mine in the way of clothes and household items.
This blanket/bedspread is the first thing I crocheted. Marianne kindly provided the yarn. Thanks Marianne!
Here's another look. As you can see, it's quite large. I thought it came out pretty nice for a first crochet project.
This dress was a bit more complicated, not to mention that it called for crochet thread instead of yarn. The thread is stiff and a royal pain to work with, but I was happy with the end result.
This dress was supposed to be for Barbie, but the hook I used turned out to be too small. So Staci wound up with a new party dress. She says she likes it.
I made another dress out of gold crochet thread, but I didn't have enough to finish it. So I've put it away until I can get some more. I'm currently working on a beautiful blue-silver sparkle evening dress that I'll feature in a future post. I'll be posting another story soon. Stay tuned! :-)
