A Visit To Aaron's English Class

Aaron invited his friend Jarrod to come to his English class and talk about his job as the sports editor for the Moreville Times. Aaron hoped that Jarrod's visit would generate more interest in writing among his students. We'll have to wait and see about that.

Looks like the kids really liked Jarrod. I'm not sure any of them would choose a writing career, but you never know. Aaron's plan seems to have worked. The kids didn't grumble so much about writing papers after Jarrod's visit. :-)

  1. Great story! I love the class room. Did you make the tables and chairs? They are perfect for high school or college classrooms!

    1. Hi Phyllis!
Thank you! Yes I made the tables and chairs as well as Aaron's desk. I got the idea for the furniture from a high school teacher friend of mine who is now retired. They were much easier and faster to make than desks. :-)

  4. Now that was awesome and so very realistic! I love the positions of all of the people. I would love to see this in stop motion! If you click on the first pic then click on each of them really fast you will see what I mean.

    1. Hi grandmommy!
I see what you mean! I always try to position the dolls as naturally as possible for the story and talk bubbles. I don't know how to do stop motion. :-( But I'm sure I could find out. LOL Thanks so much for you kind comment. :-)

  7. Good story. It's nice children can learn that there are several avenues to take to find what fits your life.

    1. Hi Janainah!
Thanks! Aaron was trying to generate more interest in writing in his students, but Jarrod proved to be the perfect example of going after a dream and winding up somewhere even better than he imagined. All the kids picked up on that. :-)

  9. I always love seeing your classroom. Great story. Nice of Jarrod to come by and talk to the kids. Personally I think he could have stretched himself a little more. Seems like fear carved out his career path. Sometimes it's worth doing things that make you uncomfortable. That's the best way to grow.

  10. Hi Vanessa!
Jarrod really enjoyed talking to the kids. As for stretching himself more, he may do that down the road, but for now, he's happy where he's at. :-)

    1. Hi D7ana!
Hopefully Aaron's idea worked, at least for some of the kids. Jarrod enjoyed the time with the kids. He likes doing things for them. :-)

  12. How cute!

I have a question: is this diorama built of 3 pieces (walls + floor)? I want to do my own setting in a serious way and I'm trying to figure out how to do

    1. Hi Sergio!
Thanks! This diorama is made up of 4 pieces - the floor, the back window wall and two side walls. It's made of foam board, but some folks use wood. You can also make it as big as you want. I made the tables and the chairs specifically for this classroom. :-)
